Google Desktop Rocks!!!

I downloaded and installed Google’s new Desktop Search engine and after only a few short hours, I’m totally hooked. This is now in the category of revolutionary to me. At first, I didn’t think I would use it very much. I thought that I didn’t need to search my hard drive very often. What I realized was how much time I spend hunting for things when I think I know where they are. Since Windows and Outlook searches are so slow, I don’t use them unless I’m desperate. Google search is as fast as the web version and finds everything.

Run . . Don’t walk . . . Download now!!!

Thanks Rob and the Keith for the tip!!!

Should we stay or should we go?

Well, we are in the midst of a big decision. Our initial commitment was to be here in Budapest for 2 years which is through next summer. In order to adequately prepare for staying or returning to America, we plan to make a decision on Oct 15th about where God is leading us.

Please pray for us and watch here for the results . . . .

Breakfast and Baseball

Woke up this morning and I went online to check the baseball scores from last night. I quickly realized that the Angels-Red Sox game was still going on and only in the 7th Inning. Thanks to MLB.TV on MLB.COM, within minutes I’m watching the last few innings of the game! I spent 45 minutes or so watching the game until Orlando Cabrera cleared the bases in the top of the 9th making the score 8-3.

A little taste of America with my cereal and coffee. It was a great start to the day!!

The three hour pizza

Last night was a pizza night. No, not because we have pizza on this night every week or something like that. It was pizza night because we needed it to be easy. Valerie & I were both tired from our long day at the office participating in Campus Crusade’s Worldwide Day of Prayer and we were tired. She didn’t want to cook. I didn’t want to clean up so we decided to order pizza.

Pizza Hut is here in Budapest and they deliver. So, at 5:20, I called and ordered some pizza. They said that it would be an hour. I thought this seemed like a long time, but it isn’t Dominoe’s.

At 6:45pm, still no pizza. I called back and they told me that the driver was on his way. We chopped up some fruit for the kids so that they would survive.

7:10pm, no pizza. This time they told me that the driver had messed up the order and that they were going to have to start over. He said that it would be 30 minutes and that it would be FREE. It was nice to have it free, but it would have been better to have been eating it at 6:15.

7:45pm, no pizza. Again I hear, It is on its way.

8:00pm, my kids’ bedtime and NO PIZZA. This is getting out of hand.

8:15pm, PIZZA!!!!! It was free and they through in some pizza sauce and two Pepsi Twists, but I’m not sure that made up for it.

Nothing like an evening sitting around and waiting for the pizza that will be here in 5 minutes. I guess we still didn’t have to cook or clean up.
