“In Tow”

Here in Budapest it is a very common occurance to see a car in tow. In fact, it happens so much, that I wonder if some people just have their neighbor tow them to work and back everyday to save on gas. It seems like I see a car “in tow” in my neighborhood every other day.

But last night I saw something that took this to a new level. I saw a motorcyle “in tow”. It was dark and foggy and I sort of saw a single light in front of me. When I approached, I realized that their were two motorcyles only one of which had power and lights. I busted out laughing.

I still haven’t seen a tractor “in tow” or a horse cart or a semi or a bicycle. We’ll see.

It’s beginning to “SOUND” a lot like Christmas

A few days after Thanksgiving, Valerie mentioned that it didn’t feel much like Christmas around here. I agreed with her, but we couldn’t put our finger on what the problem was. We have Christmas decorations and a tree. The stores here in Budapest put up just as much Christmas decorations as they do in the states. What’s the problem?

Soon after, Rob blogged about Christmas music and it struck me that it is what was missing.

So I went to the site that he recommended, Launch from Yahoo and we started listening to some great music. I figured out how to connect my laptop to the stereo so the sounds of Christmas filled the air.

Last night, I also downloaded a couple of albums from walmart.com so that we can listen in the car too. I got the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Kidz Bop Christmas. I was wanting to find some Manheim Steamroller, but I couldn’t find their albums to download. I haven’t figured out why some albums are available online and some aren’t.

Now it is feeling like Christmas. Thanks Rob for saving our Christmas!!!

Aggies in High Cotton

Aggies in High Cotton

WOW! What a difference a year makes. From 4-8 and home for Christmas to a New Year’s Day Bowl. The Aggies were invited to the Cotton Bowl to play against Tennessee after Texas, shockingly, made the jump to the Rose Bowl. Poor Cal got relegated to the Holiday Bowl even though they were #5 in the nation.

I’m pumped about the invite to the Cotton Bowl. It brings back great memories of the late 80s when the Aggies were regulars at the Cotton Bowl. I sat in the stands many a cold New Years Day to watch them. I’m also excited because the game is at 11am eastern which means it starts at 5pm over here. I should at least get to listen on the radio and maybe I will get lucky and find someone who gets the game on satellite.

I’m on the Coach Fran bandwagon for sure!!!
