A Pilgrimage

A Pilgrimage

In the morning, I’m taking Valerie on a pilgrimage. Ever since we moved here to Budapest, one of Valerie’s favorite things is collecting pottery from all of the places that we visit. In the community that we are in here, the top of the pottery list is Polish pottery from a little town in the southwest corner of Poland called Boleslawiec. After almost 2 years of saving money and dreaming of the day when she would get to make the trip, it is finally here. I have a meeting in Bratislava, Slovakia tomorrow afternoon so we will drive there first. After the meeting, it is on to Prague, where we will stay with some friends. On Friday morning, we will take the final leg to the town of Boleslawiec. There, we will quickly be overwhelmed with how much pottery there is and how many different designs there are (that all pretty much look alike to me). Hopefully, we can make all the purchases in one day before we return to Prague.

We are also looking forward to spending some good time together. It has been a busy spring and we need some time to catch up.
