Here we are during our 10 minute visit to Notre Dame. It was about 8pm and we had been up since 4am so needless to say everyone was exhausted. We walked up to the door and it had already closed so we didn’t get to go in, but I think all we had energy for was looking.

Thanks Air France
Many people plan and save their entire lives to take their family to Paris. Thanks to Air France we had that opportunity on Monday.
After waking at 4am to catch our 7am flight, we arrived in Paris about 15 minutes late. Since we only had a 50 minute layover, I knew that it was going to be tight. It was basically up to Air France. If they decided they wanted us to make the flight, they could have met us and escorted us to the next plane. In the past, they have done this for me for me a few times. No help arrived this time. It took us about 45 minutes to get from one plane to the other (2 bus rides and running through terminals) and we arrived only to find out that they had closed the gate 15 minutes before.
Our initial response was disappointment. We had our heart set on being in the US that evening. After a few tears, we started looking forward to our day in Paris. Air France put us up in a hotel and paid for our meals so we were well taken care of.
It was overcast and rainy so we didn’t spend much time in the city. Here’s a picture of us during our 15 minute visit to the Eiffel Tower. We were tired, but we really enoyed the day.
Last Day of School 2005
Friday, June 3rd was the last day of school for our kids. Isn’t the last day wonderful. On top of looking forward to no school, our kids had the added benefit of looking forward to going to the US in 3 days. It was a great year, but it is also going to be a great summer!!!
