[thumb:167:l]Tonight was Reed’s Christmas Piano Recital. He played two Christmas songs that he has been working on for a while. When he started practicing the first song, we didn’t think he would get it because it was pretty hard. There was no stopping Reed. He was determined and he not only did a great job on it, he learned another song as well!! Click here to see a 1 minute video of his performance (about 2.4MB).

It was a great way to spend our last evening together as a family for a while. We had dinner at Subway, then we went to the recital, and then the kids went off to the different places that they are staying. It was difficult to say goodbye to them because 9 days away is a long time. Valerie didn’t like saying good-bye and she was ready to back out of the trip and stay home with them. I’m going to miss them too. We know that we are doing the right thing, but it doesn’t make it easy.

We’re on our way in the morning. They have Wireless Internet at the hotel and the hospital so either Valerie or I will keep you posted!
