First European Football Match

Kiev Soccer Match

Ever since I moved to Budapest, I've wanted to attend a soccer or "football" match. Since I can't follow American sports as well over here, I've tried to learn soccer as best as I can watching in Hungarian. I've never made it to a game mostly due to cultural challenges. I usually find out when the games are after they are over and I have no idea how to buy tickets or what I should do when I get ot the game.

While in Kiev, Brian told us that he was taking his family to the Ukraine-Turkey World Cup Qualifying match. I asked him if there was still tickets available and sure enough, there were. We went to the stadium at lunch and bought great seats right at midfield.

It was a great experience. The crowd was incredibly enthusiastic. Ukraine didn't need to win the game, but they played with tons of energy. They ended up losing 1-0, but it was a great time. Maybe, this will get me over the hump and I can go to a match here in Budapest sometime.
